08:30 AM: Escape to the Ancient Village
Our expert guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi. Enjoy a scenic morning drive (approx. 50km) leaving the bustling city behind for the peaceful agricultural heartland of Son Tay province.
10:00 AM: Duong Lam – A Walk Through Time
Arrive at Duong Lam Ancient Village, famously known as a living museum of traditional Vietnamese rural life.
The Experience: Take a leisurely walk along the quaint village paths flanked by unique laterite-brick walls. We will visit the iconic Mong Phu Village Gate, the communal house, and the historical temples dedicated to two of Vietnam’s national heroes: King Ngo Quyen and King Phung Hung.
12:00 PM: Authentic Home-Cooked Feast & Local Treats
The Experience: Step inside a beautifully preserved traditional courtyard house to enjoy a special Vietnamese lunch prepared by the host family.
Hands-on Activity: Depending on the season, you will have the unique opportunity to join the local hosts in producing traditional specialties. Learn how to make Che Lam (soft green-lentil cake) or Banh Te (rice cake filled with brown onion and minced pork), and enjoy these warm treats right from the kitchen.
01:30 PM: The Masterpiece of Mia Pagoda
After bidding farewell to your host, we take a short trip to Mia Pagoda. Built in the 15th century, this sacred site will leave you in awe with its remarkable architecture and its impressive collection of 287 exquisitely crafted Buddhist statues of all sizes.
02:30 PM: The 8th-Century Tay Phuong Pagoda
As we begin our journey back towards Hanoi, we make a captivating stop at Tay Phuong Pagoda. Dating back to the 8th century, it is the ultimate example of old-world temple architecture in Northern Vietnam. Climb the laterite steps to admire the 18 ancient, incredibly lifelike Arhat statues carved from jackfruit wood.
04:00 PM: The Loom’s Melody – Van Phuc Silk Village
Our final destination is Van Phuc Silk Village, once renowned as the cradle of the finest silk in Vietnam.
The Experience: Wander through the vibrant village, visit a traditional silk-producing workshop, and learn about the intricate silk-making process—from spinning to weaving. It is also the perfect place to shop for authentic, colorful silk clothes, ties, and bags.
