DETAILED ITINERARY
INFORMATION TOUR
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Arrival in Hanoi. Welcome dinner featuring dishes from imperial and mythical inspirations. Evening water puppet show retelling dragon legends.
Day 2: Hanoi: Thang Long, Land of Dragons
City tour of Hanoi – Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake (legend of the returned sword). Visit Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, UNESCO site and cradle of dragon kings.
Day 3: Ha Long Bay: Descending Dragon
- Cruise through Ha Long Bay – “Bay of the Descending Dragon”. Explore limestone caves and legends of dragon guardians. Overnight on boat.
Day 4: Ha Long to Ninh Binh: Land of Kings
Drive to Ninh Binh, once the ancient capital. Visit Hoa Lu temples of King Dinh & Le. Rowboat through Trang An landscapes known for myths of hidden kingdoms.
Day 5: Cuc Phuong & Mythical Forests
Walk in Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam’s oldest forest, linked with legends of giant ancient trees and sacred caves. Overnight in Ninh Binh.
Day 6: Thanh Hoa: Lam Kinh Citadel
Visit Lam Kinh Citadel, land of national hero Le Loi who raised the Lam Son uprising. Learn the legend of the magic sword Thuận Thiên. Overnight in Thanh Hoa.
Day 7: Phong Nha: Kingdom of Caves
Travel south to Phong Nha-Ke Bang. Explore Phong Nha caves, known in local myths as gateways to the underworld. Overnight in Dong Hoi.
Day 8: Hue: City of Kings & Dragons
- Transfer to Hue. Explore the Imperial Citadel with dragon motifs everywhere – symbol of power and prosperity. Visit royal tombs of Nguyen Emperors.
Day 9: Hue: Myths of the Perfume River
- Boat ride on the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda. Hear stories of dragons sleeping beneath the waters. Afternoon visit An Dinh Palace, blending royal legend and French romanticism.
Day 10: Hoi An: Merchant Myths
- Drive over Hai Van Pass to Hoi An. Explore myths of Japanese Covered Bridge and trading families. Evening cooking class inspired by imperial cuisine.
Day 11: My Son Sanctuary: Lost Kingdom of Champa
Day trip to My Son, the ancient Hindu kingdom of Champa. Discover temples dedicated to Shiva and myths of fire, fertility, and dragons.
Day 12: Departure from Da Nang
Morning free before transfer to Da Nang Airport.
