Northern Vietnam Discovery: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Ha Long Bay (5 Days / 4 Nights)

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – City Tour

Welcome to Hanoi! Upon your arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to the city center. After checking in and settling into your hotel (rooms available from 2 PM), your exploration of the thousand-year-old capital begins.

In the afternoon, visit Ba Dinh Square, the heart of Vietnam’s political history, where you can take photos of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum from the outside. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, to admire its ancient gardens and historic architecture. Later, enjoy a peaceful stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, visit Ngoc Son Temple, and explore the bustling Old Quarter. Known as “The 36 Streets,” this area offers a fascinating glimpse into local life and traditional merchandise.

Day 2: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Hoa Lu & Tam Coc (B, L)

After breakfast, you will be picked up for a journey to Ninh Binh, the ancient capital of Vietnam. The scenic drive south takes you through stunning countryside landscapes and lush rice paddies.

Upon arrival, visit Hoa Lu, the site of the Dinh and Le temples, famous for their 10th-century history and intricate wooden carvings. Following a local lunch, enjoy a traditional boat trip through Tam Coc, often called “Halong Bay on Land,” where towering limestone karsts rise from green fields. Afterward, experience leisure cycling on rural roads through small villages before returning to Hanoi in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Overnight on Cruise (B, L, D)

After breakfast and check-out, you will be transferred to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. Upon arrival at the harbor, the cruise staff will warmly welcome you for your overnight journey through the “Descending Dragon” bay.

Lunch will be served on board as you sail past thousands of limestone islets. In the afternoon, explore magnificent Grottos, stop for swimming, or enjoy kayaking through the emerald waters. Return to the cruise for a cooking demonstration on the sundeck before an elegant dinner. The evening is yours to relax, enjoy squid fishing, or attend onboard activities.

Day 4: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (B, BR)

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the bay followed by a Tai Chi session or a quiet morning on the deck. As the cruise continues to sail past iconic landmarks like Sail Island and Turtle Islet, you will have time for final sightseeing.

After a hearty brunch served on board, the cruise will return to the pier for disembarkation. You will be transferred back to Hanoi, where you can check in and enjoy your final evening at leisure for personal exploration or shopping in the Old Quarter.
