08:00 AM: The Loom’s Melody – Van Phuc Silk Village
Your expert guide and private driver will meet you at your hotel. We begin our journey by driving to Van Phuc, once considered the cradle of the finest silk in Vietnam.
The Experience: Walk through streets filled with colorful fabrics and the rhythmic clacking of traditional wooden looms. We will visit a local workshop to learn the entire silk-making process—from silkworm rearing to thread spinning and weaving. You will also have time to shop for premium, authentic silk products directly from the makers.
10:30 AM: The Potter’s Wheel – Bat Trang Ceramic Village
We cross the river to Bat Trang, a historic village with nearly 1,000 years of pottery development.
The Experience: While the upper village focuses on commercial glazed items, we will guide you into the narrow, riverside ‘ancient’ alleys. Visit a small family-run factory to see artisans forming, painting, and glazing masterpiece ceramics by hand.
Hands-on Activity: Roll up your sleeves! You will have the chance to sit at the potter’s wheel and practice your talent with wet clay under the guidance of a master.
12:30 PM: Authentic Local Lunch
Take a break and enjoy a delicious, authentic Vietnamese lunch at a well-reviewed local restaurant. (Vegetarian options are available upon request).
14:00 PM: The Colors of Time – Dong Ho Painting & But Thap Pagoda
After lunch, we drive into the serene countryside of neighboring Bac Ninh province to visit Dong Ho Village, the birthplace of Vietnamese traditional woodblock folk paintings.
The Experience: Be amazed by how artisans create vibrant art using 100% natural materials—printing on special Dzo tree paper and finishing the surface with crushed oyster shells for a glittery effect.
Before heading back, we will visit the nearby But Thap Pagoda, a 13th-century masterpiece of Buddhist architecture, famous for its wooden sculptures and peaceful ambiance.
17:00 PM: Return to Hanoi
The tour concludes as our driver drops you off safely at your hotel in the Old Quarter.
